
Glendora, CA - The Citrus Owls dropped to .500 on Thursday night, falling to 2005 State Runners-up Palomar, 10-3. Citrus is now 3-3 on the young season, having dropped two straight games.
Chris Magallanez (0-1) (Chino HS)took the loss for Citrus, allowing five runs on six hits over two innings. Julian Arballo (Southwest HS) then worked seven innings out of the bullpen, giving up five more runs while striking out three batters.
The lone bright spot for the Owls was Sophomore Eddie Crespo (Bishop Amat HS), who hit a strong 3-for-5 with an RBI. Matt Ross (Ontario HS) added an RBI double and two runs scored. Steve Guzman (Kaiser HS) and Richie Roseli (South Hills HS) also had two hits apiece in the losing effort.
Joe Cates (1-0) records the victory for Palomar (5-1), allowing two runs on seven hits over five innings of work.
Citrus will be back in action on Saturday as they play host to both San Bernardino and Rio Hondo as part of the Mt. Sac Tournament.
