Glendora, CA - The Citrus Owls threw a two-hit shutout on Saturday to grab a 4-0 victory over San Bernardino Valley in a Mt. SAC Tournament game. Rio Hondo later took a 14-8 victory in the nightcap.

Michael Brun (2-0) got the start against San Bernardino and went 5.1 innings before allowing the first hit of the game. Steven Streety picked up his first save of the season, allowing just one hit over the final 3.2 innings while striking out five batters. Justin Fellhauer guided the offense, batting 2-for-4 with two RBI. Michael Gonzalez, who has come on strong as of late, batted 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

All the pitching karma seemed to have been used up in game one as Rio Hondo sent 14 men to the plate in the second inning to jump out to a 9-0 lead. Starting hurler Grant Tripp (0-1) never got out of the inning in his first outing of the season. Citrus put five on the board in the bottom of the inning, to cut the lead to four, 9-5. That would be as close as they would come in an offensive battle that saw neither starting pitcher make it past three innings.

Citrus (4-5) was led by Eddie Crespo who collected three hits and two runs. Carlos Cineceros batted 1-for-4 with his first home run of the season and three RBI. Richie Roseli and Matt Martinez added two hits apiece.

The Roadrunners won the game behind Frank Corpus, who hit 5-for-6 with a homer, a double, two runs and five RBI. Cory Morales and Victor Peinado added three hits each and Anthony Benitez, who was hit by pitch three times, scored three runs.
