Glendora, CA - Citrus College had five errors on Thursday afternoon, resulting in seven unearned runs as the Owls fell to East LA 9-1 in a non-conference game.
Starting pitcher Luis Hernandez suffered through most of the defensive misery. Hernandez was unable to get through the fifth inning, allowing seven runs (one earned) on seven hits while striking out three.
The Owls got seven hits in the game, all singles, and were only able to capitolize once, on a Steve Guzman RBI single in the eighth inning, scoring Justin Fellhauer.
Jaime Ballestros led the way for the Huskies, batting 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Citrus (5-6) will look for redemption on Saturday as they travel to East LA to complete the home-and-home series.
