Glendora, CA - Freshman Steven Streety pitched a complete game for the Owls and allowed just two earned runs, but he was the hard-luck loser as Citrus fell to L.A. Pierce on Thursday afternoon, 3-2 in Western State Conference action.

Streety (2-4) scattered ten hits and never allowed more than one run in any inning, striking out five batters. Unfortunately, the LA Pierce pitching was just a little better. Starter Miguel Cuevas and Darren Norris combined to allow one earned run on five hits. Cuevas (9-2) went six innings, striking out three. Norris allowed just two hits over the final three innings to record his eighth save of the season.
Willie Cabrera, the top hitter in the WSC, went 3-for-4 for the Brahmas (27-8, 14-4). Ryan Richardson and Andrew Tapia had two hits apiece.
Citrus (19-20, 11-10) had an double and a run from Brendan McQuaid and two stolen bases from Courtney Montgomery in a lackluster offensive performance.
Citrus and Pierce will clash again on Saturday to close out the four-game season series between the teams. Pierce leads 2-1 this season in head-to-head match-ups. The first pitch in Los Angeles is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
