Glendora, CA (Baseball) – Red-shirt freshman catcher Robert Dreyer was named a May’s Scholarship recipient at last weeks 2009 Citrus College Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony hosted by the Citrus College Foundation.
Dreyer appeared in 21 games for the Fighting Owls during the 2009 season, and batted .304 with 12 RBI’s. Dreyer was also named a Citrus College Scholar Baller, a recognition bestowed upon athletes who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
The May’s Scholarship was established in 1993 and is awarded to two students each year to those students who are pursuing a degree in education and have been involved in student government or other campus activities.
The scholarship is named after Citrus College alumns Betty Holt May and the late Dr. Bill May. Dr. May played as a member of the Citrus College baseball and football teams in the early 50’s.
