Slumping Citrus Gets Pummeled by Glendale

Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- For the fifth straight game the Fighting Owls found themselves on the losing end of a baseball game. This time though, Citrus never led, and visiting Glendale College dominated from beginning to end in a 14-2 rout of the 2nd place team in the WSC South.

Glendale wasted little time in jumping to a commanding lead, scoring two runs in the second innings, four runs in the third, and three in the fourth to take a commanding 9-0 lead. Citrus would muster two runs in the fifth thanks to a two RBI double off the bat of Evelio Ahumada, but that’s all they wood get as the Vaqueros put the nail in the coffin thanks to five more runs in the seventh.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 21-13 overall and 14-8 in conference play, while Glendale improves to 22-15 overall and 12-10 in WSC South games. The Fighting Owls will try and snap their five game skid on Saturday when they travel to LA Mission College. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
