    San Jacinto, CA (Baseball) -- Thus far this season for the Citrus College Baseball team, it had been the pitching carrying the Owls’ offense. Tuesday’s game at Mt. San Jacinto College was a role reversal for the Owls though as the offense exploded 15 hits, only to see their pitching give up a pair of late runs in their 7-5 loss.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team played two on Saturday afternoon, opening up their 2012 home slate against El Camino and East LA Colleges. The Owls split their double-header beating El Camino 5-2 and losing in 10 innings to East LA 8-3.Full article »

    Owls Throw Away Season Opener
    Cerritos, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team gave up a five run lead over the final three innings of their season opener at Cerritos College on Friday afternoon. The Owls literally threw away their season opener as a pair of throwing errors in the bottom of the ninth led to two runs for Cerritos and a 9-8 loss for Citrus.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team kicks off their 2012 season this afternoon at Cerritos College, and expectations are high for the Owls this year. Citrus returns seven regulars from last year’s squad that qualified for the CCCAA SoCal Playoffs. Included in that is the Owls’ getting back their top two starting pitchers from last year, and pitching, could be the key to Citrus’ success this season.Full article »

    Fraijo Signs With Northridge
    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- Citrus College sophomore Shane Fraijo has signed a scholarship offer with Cal State Northridge. Fraijo accepted the offer during the early signing period, and is the second Owl from last year’s team to accept a scholarship to an NCAA Division I school. Fraijo will play out his sophomore year this spring at Citrus.Full article »

    Baseball Moves on Seven Fighting Owls
    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- After one of its most successful seasons in recent memory in 2011, the Citrus College Baseball program has moved on seven of its sophomores to four-year universities on Athletic scholarships. In addition two more Fighting Owls will be continuing their education at four-year schools.Full article »

    Trio of Freshmen Headline Baseball Post-Season Awards
    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- A trio of freshman headlined the post-season awards for the Citrus College Baseball program. Shane Fraijo, Alex Mancillas, and Richard Perry all picked up 1st team All-WSC South honors this past week when the all-conference teams were announced. All in all, nine Fighting Owls were named to the All-WSC South team, seven of which were freshmen which bodes well for a squad that made it to the post-season for the second time in three seasons in 2011.Full article »

    Whitter, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team did all they could do with their draw in the 2011 CCCAA Baseball Playoffs. Faced with taking on the #1 team in Southern California, the Fighting Owls didn’t back down and went toe to toe with host Rio Hondo College. After losing 6-5 in game on yesterday, Citrus rallied with an 11-5 win in game two before forcing a game three and pushing the Roadrunners to the brink. Unfortunately, Citrus came up a run short as they fell 3-2 in the deciding game.Full article »

    Whittier, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team went to the mat with the #1 team in Southern California on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the first round of the 2011 CCCAA Baseball Playoffs.     Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team kept their WSC South Championship and playoff hopes alive on Tuesday afternoon with a 5-2 win over #8 LA Pierce College.     Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- Citrus College freshman starting pitcher Richard Perry threw the programs first complete game shut-out in two years and helped down #7 Bakersfield in a 6-0 Citrus win on Saturday. Perry scattered eight hits over the full nine innings and kept the Renegades from crossing home plate in what was arguably his gutsiest performance of the year.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- While Citrus College freshman Shane Fraijo hasn’t definitively earned a nickname, an argument could be made for Sugar since his swing is so sweet. That sweet swing was on full display in Citrus College’s 7-5 win over West LA on Tuesday when Fraijo went 4 for 4 with four runs scored, three RBI’s, and two home runs.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College Baseball team used a big day at the plate from sophomore catcher Nicholas Bergara to blow past #8 LA Mission College 8-3 on Saturday afternoon. Bergara went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s, and more importantly helped put Citrus in a three way tie for second place in the increasingly log jammed top of the WSC South.Full article »

The Fighting Owls were taking on three straight ranked opponents and after a one run loss to #3 Bakersfield earlier in the week were in need of a win to keep some positive momentum going in WSC South play.     Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College baseball team, hanging on to their playoff hopes by a thread, had that thread ripped bare on Tuesday afternoon as they were shut down by the Bakersfield College Renegades 7-3.     Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- After escaping five run deficit on Tuesday thanks to a rain-out, the Citrus College baseball team got a chance to wipe the slate clean on Wednesday afternoon when they made up the rain out with Glendale on Wednesday afternoon. Things seemed to be going Citrus’ way when they took an early 4-2 lead and then 5-4 advantage into the top of the ninth. That’s when things went South though and the baseball gods intervened as Glendale scored two in the top of the ninth to upset Citrus 6-5.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- The Citrus College baseball team had the perfect chance to pull into a first place tie with Canyons College on Tuesday afternoon when the hosted the Cougars for a WSC South match-up. The Fighting Owls shot themselves in the foot though, as Citrus committed three costly errors and had three passed balls that led to five unearned runs for Canyons in a 7-8 loss to the Cougars.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- Over the last four games, the Citrus College Baseball team has had a tough time cashing in the runners that get on base. In that span, Citrus left over 40 runners on the base paths, stranding almost twice as many base runners as their opponents. All of that turned around on Thursday afternoon as the Fighting Owls pounded Bakersfield with 23 hits in a 15-2 win over the Renegades.Full article »

    Glendora, CA (Baseball) -- One swing of the bat. That’s all it took in the San Gabriel Valley non-conference rivalry game between Mt. San Antonio and Citrus College on Thursday afternoon.
