The 2006 Citrus Cross Country began their season on September 2, 2006, as they participated in the Moorpark Cross Country Invitational. 
In its first meet of the season the Owls showed some strong points and some promising starts.
On the women’s side Christina Soto lead the way running a 23:33.46, taking 13th place out of 25 runners. Gina Wooley was right behind her taking 16th with a 24:41.72. On the Men’s side there was even better results Hector Cordova led the pack finishing 12th out of 56 runners with a 17:51.83, while teammate Santiago Meza followed closely behind with a 13th place finish and a 17:53.94 time. Also finishing in the top 20 was Darius Walker, who ran a 18:22.81.
The Women’s Team placed 2nd, while the men took home 5th. The 2006 Cross Country Season continues, when on Friday September 8, 2006, the Owls travel the SoCal Preview hosted by Antelope Valley. The race starts at 3:00 pm.
