The Women Get out of the gate fast at the WSC Preview hosted by Citrus College at Bonelli Park in San DimasSan Dimas, CA (Cross Country) -- The 2006 Citrus College Men's and Women's Cross Country kicked off the Western States Conference Preview hosted by Citrus College at Bonelli Park in San Dimas with a bang. Both teams placed, and had both impressive individual and team times.

On the women's side Christina Soto ran the top time for the Lady Owls with a 21 minute 51 second performance on the three mile course, good for 29th place. Soto, was followed closely by Gina Woosley and Nathalie Velantin who ran 22 minutes and 44 seconds (38th place) and 23 minutes and 12 seconds (42nd Place) respectively. The Lady Owls as a team took 9th place out of the 13 teams participating in the event.The Men Finished with an impressive 6th place effort

On the men's side, the Owls had one of their strongest showing of the year with a finish of 6th place out of the 13 teams at Bonelli Park. Frank Aldar and Hector Cordova were neck and neck, with Aldar edging out Cordova by 18 seconds. Aldar would finish with a time of 22 minutes and 10 seconds (18th place) on the 4 mile course, while Cordova finished with a time of 22 minutes and 28 seconds (25th place).

Next up for the Owls will be the Santa Barbara Invitational taking place this Saturday October 4th 2006 with races starting at 11:00 am.
