Cross Country -- Four personal records fell this past weekend for the Citrus College cross country team at the Bakersfield Invitational. The Women led the way with all three ladies having their best race yet, while the men showcased one personal record.
Christina Soto led the ladies as she ran a 20:25 and finishing in 27th place out of 69 runners. Gina Woosky’s time of 22:22 was good for 41st place, and Lucy Ocegueda had a strong time as she ran a 29:06. All three times were personal best for each of the ladies.
On the men’s side, they were without two of their best runners, but still managed to have a strong showing. Vincent Delgado and Pierre Moreno led the pack with 23:06 and 23:25 times respectively. Delgaldo finshed 38th out of 99 runners, while Moreno finished 46th. Vincent Alvarez ran strong for the Owls with his personal best time of 25:37. As a team the Owls finished 10th out of 11.
Next up for the Owls cross country team is the WSC Preview hosted by Citrus College. The preview will be held at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, the races will start at 3:30 pm.
