Citrus Athletes Honored at COA Convention

Ontario, CA (Athletics) -- While Citrus College continues its banner season on the athletic fields, three different Fighting Owls were recognized this past week at the Commission on Athletics Convention in Ontario, California. Jason McClellan, Andrew McNeil, and Adriana Borman were all honored for their outstanding work in the classroom.

Sophomore baseball player Jason McClellan was honored by the 3C4A (Community College Counselors Association in Academic Advising for Athletes) for his work ethic in the classroom. The 3C4A honors students who go above and beyond to obtain a quality education.

Along with McClellan, Andrew McNeil and Adriana Borman were also honored at the convention. Both McNeil and Borman were honored as Pepsi-Scholar Athletes honorees. The Pepsi Scholar Athlete Award is the highest student-achievement honor awarded annually by the COA. Candidates must carry a minimum GPA of 3.5 and must also show outstanding leadership as an athlete, student, or in other college and community activities, as well as have participated in two seasons of sport at a California community college.
