Ventura, CA (Cross Country) -- The 2007 Citrus College cross-country season got under way this past weekend, as the Fighting Owls runners participated in the Ventura Invitational hosted by Ventura College. Of the 16 teams represented at the invitational the Fighting Owls women placed 11th while the men finished in 12th.
Leading the way for the men was Christian Ramirez who turned in a time of 25:33 (75th place), and Adolfo Cortez, a returnee from last years squad, whose time was 26:40 (98th place). On the women's side Jennifer Bustillos proved to be the Lady Owl's top runner with a time of 25:42 (43rd place), while Elizabeth Granados finished just behind her with a time of 27:17 (55th place).
The cross-country team will continue its season this Saturday as it travels to Central California for the Fresno Invitational. The meet starts at 8:30 AM.
