Owls Keep on Running at Fresno Invite 

Fresno, CA (Cross-Country) -- The 2007 cross-country season continued this past weekend, as the Fighting Owl cross-country squad headed north to run in the Fresno Invitational hosted by Fresno City College. The women failed to place, while the men finished 25th.

Christina Soto was the top finisher for the Lady Owl's in her first race of the season. Soto finished 71st out of 182 runners with a time of 22:03. Last week's top finisher, Jennifer Bustillos, finished right behind Soto in 76th place, and with a time of 22:13.

On the men's side Adolfo Cortez led the pack for the Owls. Cortez's time of 23:57 placed him 163rd out of 268 runners. Finishing behind him was last weeks top runner Christian Ramirez. Ramirez posted a time of 24:10, finishing in 177th place.

The lone conference meet, before the conference championship in late October, takes place next week in San Luis Obispo, CA. The meet, hosted by Cuesta College, is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM.
