Glendora, CA (Football) – Citrus College sophomore defensive lineman, Devin Johnson, has been garnering some high profile attention from big schools across the country, and has received three official offers from three BCS schools.
The University of Oregon, Kansas State, and the University of Nebraska have all thrown their respective hats into the ring for the six foot three inch 215 pound defensive-lineman from Rancho Cucamonga High School.
“Devin is a phenomenal athlete, and will be a key component to our defense next season,” Head Citrus College Football Coach Kevin Emerson said. “Devin is also a stand-up guy, and will be a huge asset for any team that recruits him.”
Last season with the Owl’s, Johnson recorded 15 tackles (14 solo) while helping anchor one of the staunchest run defenses in the Western States Conference. Johnson also led the team in sacks last year (3) and blocked kicks (1).
Johnson and the 2007 Fighting Owls kick off their season on Saturday September 1st with a home tilt against Orange Coast College. Kick-off will be at 7:00 p.m. at Citrus Football Stadium.
