Part 5: Before the Game
Hey everyone, we are back in the hotel from practice earlier this morning. We had to get up pretty early for breakfast, but I don’t think anybody cared because it’s game day. We all ate, and talked about our big game today; along with comments about highlights on ESPN.
Everyone is excited for the game but focused on what we need to do too win. When we arrived to the University of Pacific, we had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before getting in because another team was in there practicing.
While waiting, we argued about LeBron, Kobe, and other players that we always tend to argue about. Coach Acker always gets the better end of the arguments, which Stev-o (Steven Bennet) I’m sure hates ha-ha.
When we finally got into the gym, everyone was ready too work, and get warmed up. Every team only gets 30 minutes to practice in Pacific’s gym on game day. Once we touched a ball they started the clock immediately; so we started our drills that we have been doing since day one. The time went by pretty fast, but I think everybody got there shots in and legs warmed up.
We are all back at the hotel now resting and getting ready for the game. I’m going to take a nap before we go and make Citrus College history today. I’ll keep everyone updated with our status after the game today against College of Sequoias.
Part 6: The Aftermath
Hey everyone, WE WON!!!!!! Everyone is excited about the win, and even more excited about tomorrow. The game was super hype, with plenty of people their to see what we have worked so hard for all year.
In my mind, the game was over before it even started, because they looked scared in warm-ups. Our team was too hyped up for the game, and there was no way we would come out with no energy. The game was fun, but ended early for me because I got injured in the first half. It was an unfortunate injury and hurt extremely bad; however, my teammates are warriors and got the job done.
I appreciate and love the effort that everyone on the team comes with on a daily basis. Everyone is extremely competitive and has a commitment to winning. Even our coaches have a winning attitude and are getting better on a daily basis. With these attitudes, we destroyed College of Sequoias and are advancing to the Semi-finals tomorrow.
After the game was over, we came back to the hotel for a little while, and then went to the LA Trade tech game. LA Trade Tech ended up winning the game, and I could tell that they are pretty hyped up to play us. Despite that, we’ve been hyped about this whole tournament and are ready for tomorrow. We are all about to eat and go to sleep; I will update everyone after our practice tomorrow.
