Bakersfield, CA - The Citrus College men's golf team improved 14 strokes over last week's performance and took sixth place at the Bakersfield-hosted Western State Conference event.
The Rio Bravo course proved to be much friendlier to the Owls, who finished at 402, just three shots out of fourth place. Daren Johnson led the way for Citrus for the third time in four weeks, hitting a 77 to take 14th place overall.
Cody Mullen shot his second lowest score of the season (80) to finish in 23rd place overall and was followed in 27th by Kyle Mendoza, who shot an 81.
Citrus, who remains in seventh place in the conference standings (5-43), prepares for the Conference Championship next Monday in Moorpark.
