Glendora, CA - Kyle Mendoza shot a 77 on Monday as the Fighting Owls took 16th place in their own Citrus Invitational, taking place at the Glendora Country Club.

The Owls shot 414 as a team, finishing 36 strokes back from the Invitational Champion Canyons, a Western State Conference foe. The fierce WSC performed well in the tournament, claiming five of the top eight finishes. The individual champion, Kyle Nicolson (71) hails from conference opponent Santa Barbara, who took second place.

Behind Mendoza, Daren Johnson was second for the Owls (83) taking 70th place. Cody Mullen shot an 84 and followed in 75th place. Matt Marino, Kevin Callahan and Jeff Allen each shot an 85, good for 81st place.

The Citrus men's golf team will return to Conference action next Monday at the College of the Canyons hosted event.
