Glendora, CA - Jeff Allen shot a 77 on Monday as Citrus took seventh place in the College of the Canyons hosted WSC tournament. It was the second straight Western States Conference event that Allen has led for the Fighting Owls.
The Owls shot 401 as a team, finishing 25 strokes back from the the champion Canyons. It was their second lowest team total this season during conference play. Scott LaBare of Bakersfield and Phil Martinez of Canyons each shot a 72 to share the individual title.
Behind Allen, who took 14th place, Matt Marino shot a 78, taking 18th. James Acosta was next in just his second WSC event, taking 23rd (80). Rounding out the scores were Kyle Mendoza and Daren Johnson, each with an 83 (33rd) and Cody Mullen with an 88, taking 41st place.
The Citrus men's golf team will travel to the Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Wednesday to participate in Santiago Canyon's event.
