A Peich of A Day

Santa Maria, CA (Men’s Golf) – Freshman Matt Peich came into the clubhouse with Citrus’ lowest score of the day, and only 4 shots off the leader, in the WSC match hosted by Allan Hancock Monday afternoon. Peich’s 72 left him at even par at the Santa Maria Country Club, and helped push the Fighting Owls to a strong 4th place finish.

Kevin Callahan continued his usual pace with a score of 74, while Eric Soliz posted a strong 77 on the tough course. With his score of 74, Callahan remains the only Citrus golfer in the top 10 in the WSC as he is averaging 73.50 per round which places him in 8th place only 4 ½ stroked behind the leader from Santa Barbara.

With the 4th place finish, the Owls move their season record to 6-6, all ready equaling their total wins last season. Their season continues tomorrow as they head to Tustin, CA to play the Tustin Ranch Golf Course in the Santiago Canyon Tournament. Tee-time is at 10:00 a.m.
