Chino Hills, CA(Men’s Golf) – The Citrus College Men’s Golf team placed 7th this week in the Los Serranos Tee-Off Classic in Chino Hills. Led by Kyle Mendoza’s first day 73, the Owls vaulted past 3 other teams in the 10 team tournament.
While Mendoza paced the Owls in the first round, he stumbled in the second shooting an 82 on the Par 74 South Course. Eric Soliz stepped up to fill the void however, as he had a 2 over par 76, the Owls best score of the day. With the two days scores combined, Mendoza’s 73 helped him post the best Citrus score of 155, with Soliz right behind him with a 156.
The Fighting Owls Golf team will continue its season with its first Western States Conference match on Monday February the 12th. The Owls will be on the road to play Valencia CC, for the College of the Canyons hosted match. Tee-time is at 10:00 a.m.
