Murrieta, CA (Men's Golf) -- Citrus Sophomore Kyle Mendoza had his best round of the year Monday afternoon as he shot a 1-under par 71 at the Western States Conference neutral site match at SGCA Golf Club. Mendoza's 71 helped lead the Fighting Owls to a total score of 396 their best total in the last 3 weeks.
James Acosta, Matt Peich, and Kevin Callahan helped round out the top Citrus rounds in the clubhouse as all three shot an 80 over the 18 holes. Citrus finished 6th on the day, but continued to show improvement as they inched ever closer to the top teams in the WSC.
Next Monday the Fighting Owls will take on their WSC foes yet again as they head to Saticoy Country Club for the Ventura College hosted event. Tee-time is at 10:00 AM.
