Vandenburg Air Force Base, CA (Men's Golf) -- The 2007 Citrus College men's golf season has come to a close for all but one golfer, as the Fighting Owls went down swinging at Marshallia Ranch Golf Course on Monday at the Western States Conference Championships. Citrus finished the season in sixth place out of the seven team conference with a combined score of 789 for the dual round.
Kyle Mendoza, who will be representing Citrus as an individual golfer for the Southern California Regionals, led the Fighting Owls with a 74 in the morning round and a 75 in the evening round for a total of 149. Matt Peich came in behind Mendoza with a combined 157, while Brett McCollum and Kevin Callahan were right behind him with a 158 and 159 respectively.
Mendoza will go on to compete with the best of Southern California next Monday May 7th in Murrieta, CA at the SGCA Golf Course. SGCA was the site of Mendoza's best round of golf this year as he shot a 1 under par 71 at the Western States Conference Neutral Site Tournament.
