Glendale, CA (Men's Golf) -- A week after finishing a disappointing seventh place at the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College, the Fighting Owls men's golf team bounced back finishing a promising fifth at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College.
The team shot a combined 408, just nine strokes behind fourth place Ventura and 18 off the first place finishing Santa Barbara. For the first time since the opening WSC Event hosted by Canyons College, Steve Whoolery came into the clubhouse with the lowest round of all the Citrus golfers.
Whoolery shot a 4 over par 76, at Oakmont Country Club, the fourth best round of any golfer that day. Finishing right behind Whoolery was Perrie Garcia who finished with a 6 over par 78, and was closely followed by Colin Bennet who finished his 18 holes with a promising round of 81.
Citrus will try and take the momentum gained on Monday and continue with it next Monday as it travels to Moorpark, CA to the WSC Event hosted by Moorpark College. The Fighting Owls will hit the course at Tierra Rejada Country Club at 10:00 AM.
