Mean Streets of the WSC

Glendora, CA (Men’s Golf) -- Just three days after winning their first conference meet in almost five years, the Citrus College men’s golf team was reminded just how tough the Western State Conference can be, when they finished fifth at Wednesday WSC Match hosted by the Fighting Owls at Glendora Country Club. Citrus shot a combined 391, finishing just two strokes out of second place.

For the third straight match sophomore Steve Whoolery came into the clubhouse with the low round of the day. Whoolery’s two over par 74 was the second best score of the day among all WSC competition. Freshman Jacob Blond and Sophomore Matt Peich finished just behind him, as they shot a 76 and 79 respectively.

The Fighting Owls have just two more regular season matches left on their schedule, beginning with Monday’s WSC Match hosted by Bakersfield College. Tee-time is set for 10:00 AM at Rio Bravo Country Club.
