Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) – The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team was unable to get their 2nd
WSC win as they fell to Oxnard College 1-0 on Tuesday night. The Owl’s were out-shot for the game 20-8 and only managed muster 1 shot on goal the entire game.
In what turned out to be a defensive battle played in the middle of the pitch, Oxnard’s lone goal came in the 35th minute. Luis Navarrao struck as he received a pass from Eduardo Ayala to put Oxnard on top 1-0, where it stayed the remainder of the game.
The Owl’s lone shot on goal came from foot of Pablo Acosta in the first half. The Owl’s never got another shot on goal, but did manage to get 2 more shots off in the 2nd half then they did in the 1st. The lone bright spot for the Owl’s may have been the play of goalie Felix Andrez who recorded 9 saves while only giving up 1 goal.
With the loss the Owl’s move to 2-15-2 on the season and 1-11-1 in WSC play. The Owl’s last game of the year will be a home match against LA Mission College on this Friday. The game will start at 3:00 pm.
