Glendora, CA(Men’s Soccer) – The Men’s Soccer team lost their 5th straight game to the hands of Alan Hancock 1-5. The Fighting Owls had the score tied 1-1 going into the half, but the Bulldogs came back with a vengeance in the 2nd scoring 4 unanswered goals to get their 7th win of the season.
The Bulldogs scored the 1st goal of the game
when Pedro Gomez scored off an Elifalet Garcia assists in the 8th minute. Citrus would strike back, when in the 13th minute Randall McMurray scored the first goal for the Owls in 4 games, after Bulldog defenders deflected the ball at the feet of McMurray. McMurray wasted little time, and took advantage of the Bulldog’s mistake. The game would remain tied at 1-1 until the 2nd half.
In the 2nd half the Bulldog’s took control. The first goal came in the 59th minute when Anarblo Hurtdao scored a goal off a Alan Hancock corner kick. Ten minutes later Rodrigo Guitierrez shot a laser off his foot that found the back of the net on a free kick. In the 82nd minute Juan Leon would score yet again for the Bulldogs, when goalkeeper Felix Andrez wasn’t able to handle the ball, and it got past him. Chris Thiele would score the final blow in the 86th minute when Juan Leon sent him a pass and Thiele converted.
With the loss the Fighting Owls fall too 1-12-2 on the season. Citrus will travel to College of the Canyons this Friday for a 4:00 pm match-up.
