Men's Soccer -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team continues to struggle as they lost their latest Western States Conference match to College of the Canyons 1-2. The Owls struggled to get their offense going all night and in the end they couldn’t match the Cougars.

The Owls fell behind early in the match, when the Cougar’s converted both goals in the 1st half. The first goal came when Estevan Rodriguez beat all the Citrus defenders and then beat goalie Felix Andrez to put Canyons up 0-1. Less than ten minutes later in the 35th minute Nathaniel Garcia struck pay dirt when he connected on a goal on an Abel Contreras assist making the score 0-2.
The Owls weren’t able to score until 63rd minute when Randall McMurray got a corner kick to deflect of the Canyons defenders and into the goal for 1-2 deficit. The Owls had a couple of chances in stoppage time, but were never able to convert losing 1-2.

In the loss the Owls got off 12 shots including 6 shots on goal, while Canyons got 16 shots and 8 shots on goal. The Owls had more corner kicks than the Cougars with a 6-4 advantage. With the loss the Owls fall to 1-7-1 on the season and 0-3 in WSC play. Next up for the Owls is trip to Glendale College on Tuesday October 3rd for a 7:00 pm match.
