Glendora, CA (Men's Soccer) -- The 2006 Citrus College Men’s Soccer team suffered another Western States Conference loss, when they play host to Moorpark College on Friday October 6th. A late goal from Robbie Hector put the nail in the coffin as the Owls would lose 1-2.
Neither team managed to score in the first half, with Moorpark staying on the attack most of the time. Citrus only got off 2 shots on goal in the first half while Moorpark got 7. In the
second half the Owls came alive getting off 6 shots on goal compared to Moorpark’s five. The Raiders first goal came in the 63rd minute when Nic Assad received a pass from Robbie Hector and made the score 0-1. Less than a minute later Citrus found the back of the net when Luis Jaime scored his goal. The score would remain 1-1 until with less than 5 minutes remaining Hector, who had the assist earlier in the game, scored this time off a Matt Wolters pass putting Moorpark up for good at 1-2.
In the loss the Owls were led offensively by Luis Jaime who got off 4 shots, 2 of which were on goal, and scored one of those 2 shots on goal. Goal keeper Feliz Andrez gave up two goals but managed to record 10 saves.
With the loss the Owls fall to 1-8-2 on the season and 0-4-1 in conference play. The Owls will be on the road for their next three games starting with another WSC contest at Oxnard College on Tuesday October 10, with a 4:00 pm start time.
