Garcia Headlines Men’s Soccer All-Conference Honors

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- Sophomore Rafael Garcia was Citrus’ lone representative on the All-Western State Conference 1st team list, as a total of four Fighting Owls, all sophomores, earned All-Conference honors for their play during the 2009 season.

Garcia will leave Citrus as one of the best passers in program history. During the 2009 campaign, Garcia recorded four assists (the second best mark in program history) and appeared in all 20 games for the Fighting Owls. Garcia’s five career assists is also the second best mark in program history.

Earning a 2nd team All-WSC nod was Jerry Flores. Flores started more games than any other Citrus defender the last two seasons with 35 starts to his name. Rounding out the All-WSC honors were Jonathan Longo and Alex Tuc who both earned Honorable Mention honors.

Longo appeared in 38 games over two seasons for Citrus, recording two assists as a defender. Tuc leaves Citrus as the third best scorer in program history. His 26 points in two seasons follows only former Fighting Owls Yves Tanonko and Eddie Gutierrez.
