Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer season came to a close on Thursday evening. The Fighting Owls were held winless in conference during their 2009 campaign as they fell to Moorpark College 3-1.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team had a tough task on Friday afternoon, as they hosted Canyons College and the conference’s leading scorer in Andres Bueno. Bueno was exactly what he was advertised as he rocked the Fighting Owls for four goals in a 5-1 loss for Citrus.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- With 25 minutes left in their Western State Conference contest with Allan Hancock College, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team looked as if they were on their way to their first conference victory of the season with a 2-0 lead. That’s when the Fighting Owls went Chernobyl and melted down giving up four goals in the final 25 minutes in a 4-2 loss to the Bulldogs.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- Upon first inspection of the stats from Citrus College’s men’s soccer match-up with Oxnard, it might seem like the Fighting Owls nearly defeated the Condors. Despite Citrus firing just two shots less than Oxnard, the Fighting Owls were still far away as the Condors more than doubled Citrus’ shots on goal and corner kicks in a 0-1 loss on Friday afternoon.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team continued their struggles on Friday afternoon when they played host to Glendale College. The Fighting Owls out-shot the visiting Vaqueros by nearly a 3 to 1 margin, but still came up empty handed in a 3-1 loss.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- Over the past three seasons there has been no greater nemesis to the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team than LA Mission College. In six meetings, the Eagles have beaten the Fighting Owls five times. After Friday afternoon, that number went up to six times in seven meetings, as Mission outplayed Citrus with a 2-0 win.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- Over the last three games the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team has had no problem in getting out to a great start. In the first half of those games, Citrus has either been tied with or led each of its opponents.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- For nearly 89 minutes the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team had outplayed visiting Imperial Valley College in their home opener on Friday afternoon. Despite dominating the Arabs in nearly every aspect of the game all it took was a little flick of the foot in the 89th minute for both teams having to settle for being equals.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- Citrus College sophomore Eddie Gutierrez will continue his playing career with NCAA Division II member University of Hawaii at Hilo. Gutierrez leaves Citrus as one of its all-time leading goal scorers with 15 goals in two seasons.
