The 2006 Citrus College Men’s Water Polo season sputtered out of the gate with a loss to Chaffey College 8-15. The match which took place on Wednesday September 6, 2006, was the first for the Owls and the first for the Panthers.

2006 Citrus Men's Water PoloThe Owls, who were on their home water, were led by freshman Gamal Rady, who scored 4 goals for the Owls on 5 shots. Chipping in with two goals a piece were sophomore Douglas Moore and freshman Connor Ruggio. Ruggio also contributed with 2 assists.

Chaffey dominated the match getting 8, six on five advantages throughout the match, with four of those trips producing goals for the Panthers. Freshman goalie Anthony Pearson, despite the little help on defense, registered 8 saves in the match. Defensively freshman Ricardo Carrillo led the way with 4 steals.

With the loss the Owls fall to 0-1 on the season, while Chaffey improves to 1-0. The Owls will travel to Ventura this weekend for a tournament, starting on Friday September 8th.
