After goals by Brad Beintema and Justin Coy, Citrus would crawl back to within in one point before the final frame trailing five to six after three quarters.

In the fourth and final quarter Merced came out quickly recording two goals in the first two minutes to take a three point lead. Citrus proved to be hard to put away as the Owls scored three of the next four points to trail by only one point with under a minute to go. With 18 seconds left on the clock the Owls took their chance to tie the game, as Justin Coy’s shot hit the post, to preserve the Blue Devil victory.
