2007 Lady Owls Become 1st Team in Citrus Softball History to 30 Wins in Regular Season 

The 2007 Lady Owls softball team became the 1st team in Citrus softball history to reach 30 regular season victories. Glendora, CA (Softball) -- The 2007 Citrus College softball team continued its march towards history as it became the 1st team in history to reach 30 regular season wins. The Lady Owls picked up their 30th and 31st wins of the season in a double-header sweep of LA Valley last Thursday.

The previous record of wins in a regular season game was tied last year by Coach Jackie Boxley and crew. The 2006 team won 29 regular season games, tying the 29 wins by the 2002 Cliff Wurst helmed squad.

Not only have the Lady Owls won more regular season games than any other Citrus Softball team, but the 31 wins thus far this season has vaulted Jackie Boxley to the top of the Citrus coaching heap as well. Boxley moved into 1st place on the all times wins list currently sitting at 84 wins.

The Lady Owls are also still competing for a Western States Conference championship, as they are tied with Bakersfield College a top the WSC with 3 conference games to go. The Lady Owls will be at home for a non-conference match-up with Chaffey College on Tuesday April 17. Game time is at 2:30 PM.
