Softball To Face Antelope Valley in Playoffs

Glendora, CA (Softball) -- The Citrus College softball team drew Antelope Valley in the opening round of the 2008 Southern California playoffs. Citrus, the #11 seed, will travel to Antelope Valley, the #6 seed for the Regional Round.

It's the third straight appearance for head coach Jackie Boxley and company. The Lady Owls are coming off a season in which they went 28-16 overall and took second place in the Western State Conference Blue Division.

As for Antelope Valley, they are coming off their fourth straight Foothill Conference Championship, and a 38-8 overall record. In addition, Antelope Valley has won 62 straight Foothill Conference games.

The Regional Round begins Saturday May 3rd at 2:00 PM. The two teams will play a best 2 out of 3 series with the winner advancing to the Super Regional Round the following weekend. Game two will be played Sunday May 4th at noon, with the third game following game two if necessary.
