Glendora, CA (Softball) -- Citrus College freshman Amanda “Turbo” Herrera highlight the Lady Owls’ post season honors this past weekend, when she was named to the All-Southern California team. Herrera is the third Lady Owl under Head Coach Jackie Boxley to be bestowed with the honor.
Herrera led the Lady Owls batting a team high .393 and scoring a team high 37 runs. Herrera also drove in 27 RBI’s (2nd on the team), slugged a team high .529, and stole a team high 18 bases. For her efforts Herrera was also named a 1st team All-WSC Blue Division selection.
Joining Herrera on the 1st team was fellow freshman Valerie Torres. Torres batted .320 and scored 16 runs. Also earning all conference nods were sophomore’s Kelly Martin and Courtney Mihm. Mihm and Martin both earned 2nd team All-WSC honors.
