Sacramento, CA (Swimming) – Parisa Dana helped kick of the 2007 Citrus College swim season with a bang, by dominating the competition in three events this past weekend at the Sacremento City Invitational. Dana finished 1st in one event and 2nd in two other events.
Dana, kicked things off with a 1st place finish in the 3rd event of the day, the 50 yard Breast Stroke. Dana’s time of 32.74 seconds was a full second ahead of her closest competitor. Along with her 1st place finish out of 47 competitors, Dana also finished 2nd in the 100 Yard Breast Stroke with a time of 1:11.80. Dana finished things off with a time of 29.02 and 2nd place finish in the 50 Yard Fly.
While Dana headlined the women’s side, the men’s side had some impressive finishes as well. Andrew Glover posted a 2nd place finish and time of 56.65 in the 100 Yard Fly, while Cory Shellman posted the 7th best time in the Men’s 50 Yard Free, with a time of 23.46.
The Swim team will take two weeks off, before picking things back on up Thursday March 15th for their first Western States Conference meet of the season. The Owls will be on the road for a head to head competition with Cuesta College. Races will begin at 2:30 PM.
