Glendora, CA (Swimming) -- The Citrus College Men's and Women's Swim and Dive teams closed out its 2007 regular season slate with a dual meet against Canyons and LA Valley Wednesday afternoon. The Women's team cruised to victories over both squads out-scoring LA Valley 66-47 and College of the Canyons 68-44. The Men won easily against Canyons 88-23, but pulled out a close victory over LA Valley 57-56.
Parisa Dana continued to terrorize her competition as she took 1st in all 3 events she swam. Dana was especially strong in the 100 Free and 100 Breast-Stroke winning by 8 seconds in both events. Lindsay Klein also had a strong day in the water finishing 1st in the 200 Free and 2nd in the 1000 Free. Janet Pezold also posted strong finishes with a 1st place finish in the 100 Back and 2nd place finish in the 50 Free.
For the men Mikhail Reyes continued his torrid pace in the 200 IM and 500 Free. Reyes took 1st in both and won by 4 seconds in the IM and 8 seconds in the Free. Cory Shellman was impressive with two 1st place finishes in the 50 Free and 100 Free, while Timothy Glover took 1st in the 200 Butterfly finishing 16 seconds faster than his nearest competitor.
With the regular season meets coming to a close the swim and dive teams will be headed to conference and southern section finals. The SoCal Diving Championships will take place April 20 & 21 at El Camino College in Torrance, while the swim team will participate in the WSC Championships at Santa Monica College on April 26-28.
