Locatell, Kalinisan Headline Day Two

Mission Viejo, CA (Swimming & Diving) -- The Citrus College men's and women's swim and dive teams continued making headway at the 2008 CCCAA State Championships on Friday. Freshman Weston Locatell and sophomore Ken Kalinisan marked Citrus' two highest finishes thus far in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 100 Yard Breaststroke.

After Kalinisan and Locatell combined with Brian and Peter Smiley to take 10th in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:39.13), they each turned their attention to their individual events. Locatell was up first in the 100 Yard Butterfly, where he grabbed 7th place with a time of 52.38 seconds.

Kalinisan would follow that up with a ninth place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Kalinisan's time of 59.62 seconds was just sixth tenths of a second off the 8th place mark of 59.02. Rounding out the Citrus performances of the day was sophomore women's diver Lisa Mooney. Mooney finished 10th in the 3 Meter Dive with a score of 131.40.

With one day left Citrus has two events left to compete in. Kalinisan will be participating in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, and helping out with the men's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay on Saturday.
