Men's Swim Winning Streak Snapped

Glendora, CA (Swimming) -- After cruising through much of their conference schedule, the Citrus College men's swim team suffered their first lost of the season on Wednesday afternoon, with a 110-80 loss to what is arguably the state's best team Ventura College.

Despite the team's first conference loss, Citrus still got a pair of great performances from Weston Locatell and Ken Kalinisan. Locatell took first place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.69, while Kalinisan grabbed first in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 54.69.

For the women, it was their second conference loss in a row as Ventura out-pointed the Owls 126-61. Jenn Marshall would turn in the best performance of the afternoon, as she took third in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 37.74.

With Wednesday's losses, the Fighting Owls close out their 2008 regular season schedule. Citrus will be participating in the post-season events starting with the Diving Championships at El Camino College on Saturday April 18-19, and then the WSC Championships April 24-26.
