Glendora, CA (Swimming) -- The Citrus College men's and women's swim and dive teams played host to Bakersfield and LA Valley College's on Friday afternoon for a double-dual meet. The men swept both match-ups, while the women split, losing to Bakersfield, but beating LA Valley.
On the men's side Peter Smiley won the 200 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 1:52.22, and the 200 Yard Backstroke beating his closest competitor by six seconds with a time of 2:08.95. Other event winners included Weston Locatell in the 200 Yard IM (2:02.10) and 200 Yard Butterfly (2:02.80), and Jordan Rivas in the 100 Yard Freestyle (49.71 seconds). The men also finished their day off by winning the 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay.
On the women's side, Tori Geiger had the best performances of the day. Geiger won both the 1 Meter and 3 Meter Diviing events, scoring valuable points for the Lady Owls. Other notable performances, included Laila Elsherif in the 1000 Yard Freestyle Event (3rd, 13:22.03) and Brittany Orduno in the 200 Yard Freestyle (3rd, 2:13.75).
