Glendora, CA (Swimming) -- In their second home hosted double-dual Western State Conference meet in as many weeks, the Citrus College men’s and women’s swim teams flexed a little bit of muscle as both teams knocked off visiting LA Pierce and Canyons College.
The men beat Canyons by over 70 points (91-20) and kept things close with Pierce (60-53), while the women handled Canyons with relative ease (70-34) and eeked out a close on with the Brahma’s (58-43).
On the men’s side it was the usual list of suspects for the Fighting Owls. Weston Locatell (200 IM, 100 Butterfly), Jordan Rivas (50 Free, 100 Free), and Peter Smiley (500 Free) all earned first place finishes.
For the women though, Citrus got some strong and steady performances from the likes of Charice Gates (1st 100 Free, 1:05.56), Jenn Marshall (1st 50 Free, 28.72), and Brittany Orduno (1st 200 Yard Free, 2:15.40).
