Bakersfield, CA - Sophomore Brittany Cooper had to merely travel across the street on Saturday to break a school record, as the Citrus College Track & Field teams competed in Azusa Pacific's Meet of Champions.

Already the school-record holder in the 400m hurdles (63.48), Cooper broke 100m hurdle mark on Saturday by 17/100th of a second, running a 15.09. She took sixth place in the event and topped an eight-year old record.

Another highlight performance on Saturday was Santiago Meza, who ran a 2:02.68 in the 800m for a personal record. Tarynn Myers toppled a pair of personal bests in the 100m (11.28) and the 200m (22.85).

The Owls will be back in action Friday, April 21st as the Western State Conference championship prelims begin with the Hammer competition at UC Santa Barbara. The preliminaries continue the following day at Santa Barbara City College.
