Glendora, CA (Track and Field) – Brittani Cooper, a member of the Citrus College Track and Field team the past two seasons, has been named an
All-American in the 400m Hurdles and the 100m hurdles. Cooper was all the Western States Conference Champion in the 400m hurdles. Cooper will be transferring to San Francisco State in the spring on a scholarship to run track. “It’s great for Brittani and great for us,” Former Head Women’s Track and Field Coach Maury Greer said. “Brittani is a neat girl, and it speaks a lot about her.”
“This is fantastic,” Cooper said. “Last season I said that I wanted to be an All-American and I set that as my goal.” Cooper credits Assistant Track and Field Coach Treallis Brown as being instrumental in her success. “I know I wouldn’t have been able to do this without him,” Cooper said. “He’s the one that let me know that I could do it.”
Before Cooper was named an All-American she was busy breaking records while at Citrus. Cooper now holds the record for the 100m hurdles (14.50) and the 400m hurdles (1:03.48). Citrus College’s Track and Field season begins on Saturday February 3rd when the Track and Field team will travel to Arizona for the Arizona Indoor Meet.
