Glendora, CA (Track and Field) -- After participating in the SoCal Prelims this past weekend down in San Diego, CA five Citrus College track and field athletes will compete in the Southern California Community College Track and Field Finals this next weekend back down in San Diego. Leading the way are Tarynn Myers and Cristina Palmer who both qualified in two separate events.
Myers is one of only two Citrus male athletes to qualify as he will be running in the 200 meter dash with his prelim time of 21.46, and the 100 meter dash after his preliminary time of 10.88 seconds, which was the 3rd fastest time this past weekend. Joining Myers in San Diego will be O'Neill Roussell who will be competing in the shot-put after his 7th place finish at the prelims with a distance of 44 feet and 1.25 inches.
On the women's side Palmer will be competing in the long jump (16'8") and the triple jump (36'6.75") where Palmer placed 6th during the prelims. Joining Palmer is Rachel Raper in the hammer throw (143"8'), and Jennifer Esparza in the javelin. Esparza had the second longest distance this past weekend with a throw of 121 feet and 7 inches. The Finals will take place this Saturday May 12th at the University of California San Diego.
