Pope cleared 6 feet 8 inches, the fifth best mark in California Community College this year. PR’s Rule Day for Citrus TrackGlendale, CA (Track & Field) -- Freshman distance runner Vanessa Esquivel and sophomore thrower Evan D’Oyen both post personal best last Friday for the Fighting Owls at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College. Esquivel ran the 1500 in a time of 5:04.60, placing her in the top 10 times in the WSC this year, while D’Oyen threw the shot-put for a personal best of 41 feet 5 inches. Field DayValley Glen, CA (Track & Field) -- The Citrus College Track & Field team took some positive steps on Friday afternoon, as both the men’s and women’s teams scored their highest point totals of the season. The majority of those points would come from the field events, as the women finished third in the four team event with 10 points, and the men fourth with 24. Pope Leads Citrus at MoorparkMoorpark, CA (Track and Field) -- Freshman Christopher Pope led the way for Citrus this past weekend at the Western State Conference event hosted by Moorpark College. Pope had two of the best finishes of any Citrus athlete, finishing in 1st (in a 3-way tie) in the High Jump (6’ 4”), and 5th in the Long Jump (6.02 M).
