Glendora, CA (Volleyball) -- After losing back to back matches against ranked teams in the State the Citrus College Volleyball team got things back on track on Friday night with a three set sweep over West Los Angeles College. The Lady Owls combined to post a .452 kill percentage, their best mark of the season, in the win.
The Lady Owls didn’t struggle much against the Wildcats opening up the match with a 25-12 win in the first set. West LA picked up an extra point in the second before falling 25-13, and then fell apart in the third as the Lady Owls recorded the majority of their season high 14 aces in the final frame.
Freshman Lindsey Mitchell would finish with a game high 11 kills on 17 attempts, while fellow frosh Lauren Walsh recorded 31 assists and a season high six aces.
With the win, Citrus improves 4-7 overall and 2-1 in WSC South Division play. The Lady Owls continue conference play next week with a pair of back to back road games beginning with a match-up at Glendale College on Tuesday October 20th. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
