Glendora, CA - Citrus College picked up seven All-WSC honors this week as the men’s and women’s basketball teams closed out the 2005-2006 season. Three men and four ladies have been honored.

Leading the way for the women is Alexis Pope, a two-time First-Team selection. She has now also been honored as a two-time All-State player. Pope led the Owls this season in nearly every offensive category. She hit the 400-point plateau, averaging over 20 a game. She also led the team with 11.9 rebounds per game, 53 blocks and 71 steals. She added 39 assists, which ranked third. Pope shot 55% from the field, best for the Owls.

The Texas A&M Prairie View bound forward ranked fifth in the state in scoring, sixth in blocking, eighth in field goal percentage, eleventh in rebounding and 16th in steals. She was also the leading scorer in the Western State Conference.

Also earning first-team honors for the women was two-time honoree Nicole Cunningham. Cunningham averaged 7.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for Citrus, shooting 46% from the field. She was in the top-50 in the state for rebounding.

Earning second-team All-conference honors were Semone Funn and JaTonn Parhman. Funn led the team and was second in the conference with 184 assists, averaging just under six per game. Parham ranked second on the team with 38 blocked shots and averaged 6.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
