Washington Named WSC South Player of the Week 

Washington_powGlendora, CA(Women’s Basketball) -- Sophomore Terri Washington, became the second Lady Owl to be named Western State Conference South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week yesterday. Fellow teammate Shateah West earned the honor a few weeks back.

This past weekend, Washington lit up Citrus’ competition at the Conoco Phillips Invitational hosted by Cuesta College. In three games Washington averaged a team high 14.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per contest in leading the Lady Owls to a third place finish at the tournament. In Citrus’ 51-42 upset bid over State ranked #8 Orange Coast College, Washington poured in 14 points and grabbed four boards.

For her efforts, Washington was named to the All-Tournament team this weekend, her first such honor of the year. Washington and the rest of the Lady Owls (ranked #14 in Southern California) will be playing in yet another tournament this weekend, as it travels to Moorpark, California, to take part in the Moorpark Classic. Citrus will open up the first round with a game against Antelope Valley College (8-4) ranked 6th in the State according to the latest Coaches Poll. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM.
