Glendora, CA (Women’s Soccer) – The Citrus College women’s team tied yet again, as they played to a 1-1 score against visiting Bakersfield College on Friday. It is the Lady Owl’s 4th tie in conference play and 5th tie on the season.
Citrus College basically beat the Renegades everywhere but on the scoreboard, getting off more shots and more corner kicks against the Bakersfield defense. In the first half Citrus out-shot BC 10-5, but it was the Renegades who would get the first point of the afternoon. Ana Rosales got the ball past goalie Crystal Vera in the 29th minute to put BC up 1-0. Melissa Koenig was credited with the assist. The score would remain in favor of the Renegades until the 2nd half.
The 2nd half was all Owl’s much like the first, as they out-shot BC once again this time by a margin of 6, 12-6. Despite the high volume of shots taken, Jenae Brown was the only Lady Owls to score when she put the ball in the back of the net after getting her own rebound in the 56th minute.
With the tie the Lady Owl’s record moves 7-6-5 on the season and 3-5-4 in conference play. The Lady Owl’s have only 3 games left on the schedule beginning with a road match at LA Valley. The game will begin at 3:00 pm.
