Women's Water Polo -- The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team suffered their first l
oss of the year today as they lost 6-12, to fellow WSC member Ventura College.
The Lady Owls struck first as Stephanie Emery found the back of the net. Ventura came back strong however scoring the next 7 points taking a 7-1 lead in the half. In the 3rd quarter both teams scored a point a piece, making the score 2-8 going into the 4th quarter. The 4th proved to be the most productive for the Owls, but they couldn’t overcome the deficit falling 6-12.
In the loss Stephanie Emery led all scorers with 4, while Janet Pezold led all Owls with 2 assists. Heather Curtis recorded 12 saves in the game.
With the loss the Owls move to 2-1 on the season and 0-1 in WSC play. Next up for the Lady Owls is a trip south to the San Diego Mesa Tournament beginning Friday September 29, 2006.
